Come and join us for a special one night of the old

SOUTH EAST LONDON LINDY HOP CLUB

The 'same old times and format' with special DJ sets from Dr. Swing!

The South East London Lindy Hop Club is a friendly venue where you can enjoy social dancing as well as classes.

These classes are held at a fabulous vintage ballroom in Penge.

Join Caron and Steve to learn Lindy Hop and dance to music from the 30's, 40's and 50's

Classes are taught in a 9 week rotation. Although it is easiest to start on week 1 new starters are welcome on any week.

There are 3 different roatations so there is still more beginners material to learn after you've completed your first rotation.

Classes are taught on a drop in basis so no registration is required.

8.30pm Freestyle

8.45pm Intermediate class

9.30pm Freestyle

Music provided by Dr Swing

Travelling to the Royston club

Car

Penge is situated between Anerley and Beckenham just off the Beckenham road (A234). The Royston Club is at the junction of Royston road and Westbury road. As Royston road is a one way street with traffic flowing towards the main road the club is approached by turning into Clevedon road. At the junction with Westbury road turn left and the entrance to the car park is on the right hand side. Although the car park is very large it can get busy, please park carefully. If the car park is full there is free on-street parking available.

Train

The Royston Club is easy to reach by train with a short walk from either Clock House or Kent House stations. The journey from Central London to either station takes around 20 minutes.

Clock House Station is on the main line from London Bridge. To walk to the venue from Clock House Station, exit the station and turn left on to the Beckenham road, walk for a couple of minutes Royston road is on your left.

Kent House Station is on the main line from London Victoria. From Kent House Station take Plawsfield road towards the Beckenham road. Turn right onto this road, Royston road is the next road on the left.

Tram

Beckenham road Tram Stop is very close to Royston road. The journey from East Croydon takes 15 minutes. To walk to Royston road turn right onto the Beckenham road. Royston road is a short walk on your left.

Bus

Beckenham road and its junction with Clevedon road are supported by a number of bus routes. The details below were correct as of January 2009.

Crystal Palace - 358 stops at Clevedon road and takes 13 minutes from Cafe St Germain

Beckenham - 227 stops at Clevedon road and takes 13 minutes from the High Street/War Memorial

Sydenham - 194 stops at Clevedon road and takes 20 minutes from Newlands Park.
